The festival of Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is currently celebrated in India. It is an Indian festival celebrating the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. It falls on a different date each year, but is usually celebrated in October-November. This year, the main day of the multi-day celebration fell on Sunday 12 November. During the celebration, small clay lamps with oil are lit and people are given sweets. Diwali reminds us that even in the darkest moments, hope and light can prevail.
